Our speciality is pure silk thread for handsewing of all kinds and we have 600 shades! Our silk comes in skeins, each skein consisting of 6 strands of monofilament silk, each of 7 yards (6.5 metres) in length, the whole wound into a simple skein. A skein is £2.25. We sell the skeins individually by shade or in sets. The sets work out as more economical, the larger the set, the greater the price reduction.

never tried silk thread before. The silk sets are larger and very good
value, the larger the set the lower the price per skein!
In 2008 we introduced 60 new colours to our range bringing our total to 600 beautiful shades. All these new silk shades are available now on this site.
We
know it can be hard to choose colours so we do offer a free colour matching service. If you are having trouble, just send us a sample of the colour you need to match and we will find it for you.
Our vintage and reproduction silver and reproduction pewter items make
unique presents for the discerning needleworker or collector. Each
item comes in a Silk Mill presentation box.
